I Don’t Care How Many Followers You Have

Twitter isn’t a contest. The number of followers you have is not important. What is important is how many people that follow you actually care what you have to say.

I see a few ‘RT this’ or ‘Almost to 500 followers, help me out!’ like tweets a day and every single one is annoying and unnecessary.

If you have 8 million people that follow you, but none that really read or care what you say, what’s the point? Would it not be better to have eight followers who really appreciate your opinion?

All this facebooking and tweeting is about communication and connecting, and you can’t have that if it’s a one way conversation.

And while I’m at it, no I will not give you a RT to support your cause if you ask for it. If you’ve got money to donate then shut your mouth, stop being a jerk, and donate it. If there’s a cause worth supporting, I don’t need a bit RT THIS AND FOLLOW ME NOW in my face to realize it.
